Tiffin Hill is a small family vineyard in the Gladstone area of Wairarapa. This is a concentrated wine with character. Strong Nashi pear, root ginger and bready yeast lees flavours are supported by crisp acidity to give a pleasantly drying finish. Extraordinary value for a wine that stylistically is closer to Pinot Grigio than Pinot Gris. "Bob Campbell" M.W

An elegant selection of definitive Marlborough Pinot Noir. The nose is embellished with dark stone fruits, leather and a vibrant floral lift. The palate is structured and refined, with delicate layers of fruit and oak, leaving a lingering and elegant mineral finish.
1 May 2009
Gumfields Strikes Gold at Vinordic
A new brand produced by West Brook Winery has come away with one of the most prized awards on
the European wine scene, the coveted Gold Trophy for overall “Best Value Red Wine” at the 2009 Vinordic Wine Challenge.
The competition, in its seventh year, is arranged by Vinordic together with the magazine “Allt om Vin” and is open to all wines that are available at Systembolaget (the Government retail monopoly) in Sweden. Wines that can be bought through the order assortment process may also enter the competition. The goal is to find the most “priceworth” wines in Sweden.
“Priceworth” is the keyword in the Swedish market, not surprising when every daily newspaper has it own wine critic who grades the wines that are offered to the readers. The word “priceworth” is not about the lowest price, but about biggest taste experience for what the consumer pays.
The competition is unique in that the cheapest wine can compete against the most expensive wines.
“This is something that we are the only one in the world doing” says the moderator Bengt-Göran Kronstam, wine critic in “Dagens Nyheter” and the editor for the magazine “Allt om Vin” .
The wines are blind tasted by a qualified jury that consists of 8 experienced wine tasters. Almost 500 wines have been tasted and one winner in each category and price class went to the final tasting.
Anthony Ivicevich, Chief Winemaker for West Brook, the winery behind the Gumfields brand is delighted by the news. “This is indeed the ultimate endorsement for our winemaking team. Anyone can make good wine but to make great wine for a price that people can afford is what it’s all about for us. Gumfields has already got off to a great start in Sweden with the company now into its second
season of supply. This award will give a strong position in the market and with Swedish consumers” he said.
The Vinordic Wine Challenge is certified by EU
