West Brook Marlborough Riesling 2008
A vibrant lime-gold edged Riesling. Citrus blossom, mandarin, fresh lime zest and exotic spices on the nose. The palate initiates in the citrus spectrum with flavours of ginger, toasted coriander and cumin appearing. A creamy texture evolves with a fine mineral edge, gently balanced with slight natural fruit sweetness. A wine with an elegant and sustained presence on the palate, revealing great concentration.

Each individual parcel of fruit is separately crushed and pressed early
morning in Marlborough, with the chilled juice then being transported
to our Auckland winery to complete its transformation. The first parcel
to be harvested produced a wine of great length and elegance. The
palate was focused and concentrated, a pure minerality was revealed.
The second parcel was broad and fulsome in its palate weight, with
extremely rich tropical aromatics. 100 percent fermented in stainless
steel, using two different yeast strains and a range of ferment
temperatures, to retain pure fruit expression. The various components
are then blended together and allowed to rest on light yeast lees until
bottling.
